How to decorate a bedroom without headboard

Even though the headboard is a very beautiful and practical piece for the bedroom, there are lots of other ways to beautifully decorate this room without a headboard. Some rooms are too small to be able to accommodate a headboard while others just don’t need one. Let’s see what other alternatives there are in this case.

If you don’t want, don’t need or don’t have the space for a headboard in your bedroom but you still feel the need to replace it with something, artwork would be a great solution. A large picture or poster hanging over the bed would be a wonderful choice. All you have to do is go shopping and purchase either a painting or simply a poster-sized print of your favorite artwork. Put the poster in a frame and hang it above the bed. You can choose only one if it’s big enough or two or more if they’re smaller.

If a poster is not what you had in mind, maybe you can create something a little more romantic. For that you’ll need some fabric.Purchase 12 yards of fabric of your choice and it into four pieces of equal dimensions. Then take one end of each length of fabric and staple them to the center of the ceiling, above the middle of the bed. Then you can attach a large drapery ring or a hook above each corner of the bed and drape the fabric strips towards the rings. You just need to slip a strip through the ring and then let the fabric hang down. It’s a stylish solution and the effect is stronger than that created by a headboard.

Another similar solution would be to create a sheer canopy above the bed. For that you’ll need long, sheer curtains in your choice of color, an embroidery hoop and some fishing line. First, undo the thumb screw on the embroidery hoop and discard the inner hoop. Then he sheer curtains go onto the hoop and everything goes where the curtain rod will be. Now it’s time to use the fishing line. You’ll need four 12-inch lengths of fishing line and you have to tie them to the embroidery hoop and then tie the ends together. At the end, staple the loose ends of the fishing line to the ceiling above the center of the bed and it’s done.

There are also many other ways of decorating a bedroom without using a headboard. Depending on the size of the room, the dimensions of the bed and type of décor you have chosen for this areas, try to figure out what would you like to replace the headboard with. It can be something as simple as a series of family pictures hanging above the bed or something more spectacular and sophisticated as curtains and other decorations.{picture sources:1,2,3,4,5,6 and 7}.
