Well-Balanced Scandinavian Apartment With A Subtle Masculine Feel

When you first look at a space, it can sometimes immediately strike you as either being feminine or masculine without being sure that you feel that way. For me, for example, this apartment has a masculine vibe and it’s something I could figure out immediately. But what gives it this vibe? It’s not lacking accent details, it has delicate features and a nice and rather neutral combination of colors. Well, there are a few small elements that give away its masculinity.

For example, even though the dining chairs are classical and with delicate curves and the table is decorated with flowers, on the other side of the room there’s a rather different image. The the sofa has a bulky and not necessarily sophisticated design and the tufted leather upholstery is not the most feminine.

In fact, it’s one of the least favorite types women would ever choose, especially with this combination of texture and color. Then there’s also the cow hide area rug which only emphasizes the roughness and masculinity of the décor.

The bedroom also gives us a few hints. It’s a spacious room and an entire wall is covered in dark furniture with hidden storage spaces inside. The furniture frames the bed and has spotlights as opposed to lamps which are usually more feminine and delicate. It’s this extreme simplicity and focus on functionality that gives the apartment this vibe.{found on esny}.
