There are things that never get old or that, when they do, they are even more beautiful and interesting. When it comes to furniture these things are usually antiques. Still, there are certain designs that are simple and so functional that we still find them beautiful even these days. One of those items is this steel chair. It was designed by Marcel Breuer and it dates back to, believe it or not, 1929.
The chair is part of the THONET Collection and it come sin two models: with or without armrests. The main reason why this chair is still very appreciated, even after all these years, is because it has a simple design, with a simple shape and a with no unnecessary details that over time only get old and ugly.
The chair has a chrome-plated tubular steel frame so it’s durable and strong, ready to be part of your home for many years to come. It also includes some wooden parts that are made from stained beech. As for the seat it’s wither, wicker, plastic, mesh or upholstered and covered with leather or fabric.
It’s a classic piece with a simple structure and an ingenious aesthetic combination of tubular steel, wood and wicker. This chair along with other models has been produced by Thonet since 1930. The chair is especially versatile and it can be used in dining rooms, in offices, conference rooms, waiting areas, restaurants, terraces etc.
