Tips For Keeping A Bookshelf Organized

I don’t know about you but I’m always having trouble keeping the bookshelves clean and organized. Let’s say I spend an entire day organizing the books and making sure everything is perfectly organized. At some point they will all look messy again. This usually happens when you take a book but you don’t put back where it was. You either can’t remember where it was or it just seems easier to put it horizontally instead or vertically. This is how everything gets messy.

Frist of all, you have to understand that you don’t have to keep all the books if you don’t like them, don’t need them or simply don’t want them. So before you start organizing your books you have to decide which ones you want to keep. The rest you can give to charity.

When you start organizing your books, it’s best if you first take them all out and put them on the floor. Then you can take them one by one and decide where they need to go. Start creating sections. If you really want to be organized and you want to be able to find a book easily, you can also label these sections. You can also do what I did: make a list of all the titles and number the books. This way when you need a certain book, you can find it in the list and then look for the number that corresponds to the title.
