A Tiny House Rental With A Breezy, Beach-Inspired Design
What started out as a casual conversation over dinner about building a tiny house ended up becoming reality for a young couple from Cottonwood, Utah. Patrick and Sarah Romero started working on this project in the summer of 2014 and three months later their new tiny house was completed.
It’s a 192 square ft. (only 18 square meters) structure which they now rent out. They chose a breezy, beach-inspired design for it, with a white exterior, eye-catching blue doors and storm shutters for the windows. They even added a deck later on. The roof has a series of skylights which bring abundant natural light inside, making this little house seem bigger and more airy.
The interior of this tiny house is what really impressed us. It has an unusual layout which placed the kitchen at the center of the floor plan. The kitchen is compact and has a stove with oven, a stainless steel sink, a microwave oven and space for the essentials inside the white cabinet below the sink as well as the one up at the top and the one on the opposite wall. Behind the kitchen is the bathroom which has a curved shower in the corner and a bay window which makes room for a vanity with a sink and open storage underneath.
Across the shower is a cozy little nook with a comfy bench and hooks on the wall for hanging towels and robes. Next to it is a storage closet. The area above the kitchen and bathroom is the loft bedroom which gets light from above and can be accessed via a ladder. The rest of the lower section is occupied by the living room which has a small sofa that can be extended into a guest bed and a table across from it which folds flat against the wall when it’s not needed.
