The Prosopa interior design restaurant in Athens

This intriguing restaurant is located in Rouf, an area in Athens, Greece. The restaurant is called Prosopa which actually means “faces” In greek. The name was inspired by the “faces” or types of the potential clients that might enter the restaurant. This means that it’s not a themed place but a versatile restaurant, opened for everyone.

Indeed, it’s the perfect place to go for something to eat after seeing a movie, going to the theatre or attending other events in that area. Inside, you’ll be welcomed by friendly and prompt services and fine food. The restaurant’s industrial-like style is not arbitrary. This place has an interesting history.

Situated opposite the train track, this place was originally a glass factory. It was then turned into a restaurant and opened its doors for the first time in 1998. In 2009 the restaurant moved to the rear of the New Benaki Museum, where it can still be found. The factory was turned into the restaurant that you see today by 360id studio, Interior designer Alexandros Tsikordanos has a lot of work to do before he could call this place a restaurant.

During the transformation process, some of the original elements were preserved, like the industrial windows and the facades. Now this place is a combination of industrial and contemporary elements that create a unique design.{found on yatzer and pics by Vangelis Paterakis}
