The Munich Lounge Chair by Sauerbruch Hutton

Designed by Sauerbruch Hutton, an architectural company with the headquarters in Berlin, the Munich Lounge Chair will be produced by German manufacturer ClassiCon, which will be presenting the chair at the upcoming 2010 IMM Cologne show. This type of chair designs are good for our posture, although I’m not sure about the shape. The Munich Lounge Chair will be available in frame of oak or walnut, stained and clear varnished.

As you can see the base is made of wood and it has a natural color. The actual chair is black and it has an unusual shape. I’m not sure what’s the purpose of this design but I assume it was built for comfort, because if they actually chose this shape in order to make it look beautiful, then it’s a total fiasco. This is not a pretty chair. I don’t find it elegant or stylish, not even ok. I think it’s a waste of space to have something like this in your home. It just looks odd, and not even in a good way.

However, there are plenty of people who are actually looking for pieces like this. They actually like to have odd things in their home. Every person has its own style and personality, so there’s really no good or bad when it comes to this kind of situations. If you like it, then this is all that matters.
