The “Home Alone” residence in Illinois for sale

This expansive and unusual residence with an even more unusual name is located in Winnetka, Illinois and it’s currently on the market. The house is called “Home Alone” and that’s because Kevin from the 1990 John Hughes movie with the same name used to live there. It’s one of the most famous and popular movie houses ever and now the unique opportunity to own has come, for $2.4 million.

Let’s take a closer look at this house. Obviously, it will seem a little different from the house you were used to see in the movie. That’s because only a few of the interior scenes were shot inside the real house so there’s a lot more to see of this residence than you know. Inside, you’ll see French doors leading to the home office and a beautiful piano outside the room that’s still there even today.

The house looks very different now that the red and green patterned wallpapers have been removed. The grey adds a certain elegance and makes it more serious. It’s no longer the warm and cozy Christmas house but just another residence.
