The Exchange Hotel Interior Design – Amsterdam

Amsterdam is well known for its opening to new ideas and mentalities. The place called home  for many recusant minds it is now housing a new concept from Otto Nan and Suzanne Oxenaar, called The Exchange Hotel .The interesting part is that the rooms are being  dressed as if they are fashion models by former students of the Amsterdam Fashion Institute.

Special fabrics and unique patterns are being developed with the Textile Museum in Tilburg with just one purpose : “dressing up”  each individual chamber  in original outfits. The people responsible  for this are designers Mattijs van Cruijsen and Ina Meijer. Their work is open to randomness and coincidence, managing to create in that way three major design  themes : light, space and tactility.

The building has  61 rooms, ranging from 1 to 5 stars. Each room is diverse and inspiring, as the neighborhood the hotel lies in. The chosen  theme and style also reflects on the way they named and categorized the rooms. Therefore, romantics can fall asleep into a Marie Antoinette- inspired room where huge dress drapes fall  over the walls and under the bed. Or, if you prefer a more minimalistic  style you can choose a room that is based on the old fairy tale like The Emperor’s New Clothes. A fun place was created for people who love adventure and experimenting all the time with new things .So next time when you find yourself in Amsterdam,  tired  from  tasting  all the city can offer , give it a try.
