The cute Ildiko solid wood stools by Alejandro Ruiz
Whenever you see such friendly faces your heart melts. It’s just impossible to resist to their charm without letting out at least a smile. This was probably the main idea behind this project. Ildiko is a lovely stool that was designed to put a smile on your face every time you look at it. It’s that detail that makes your day better.
The stool was the creations of designer Alejandro Ruiz. It was designed for Riva 1920. The stool is made of solid cedar wood. It’s basically just one big piece of wood that was carefully carved and finished in the shape of these friendly creatures. The shape of the stool is very simple and has only been stylized to make it seem friendly and cute. The stools thus resemble chunky creatures with a smiley face carved on their surface.
The stools have two feet and it’s a detail that takes the metaphor even further. The smiley face is the touch that completes the whole design. Since each stool is made from a different piece of wood, they are all unique and different from the rest. The natural lines and details of the wood make each stool stand out and some of them even tend to have different characters and different expressions. The overall dimensions of the stools are L 39,8 x P 40,6 x h 41,7.They are very cute and very versatile and would make lovely additions to any room of the house. It’s something that both children and adults will love.
