Few things can be better than just sitting in front of the fireplace in a cozy armchair and watching the flames play around. It’s very relaxing and calming. All you need is a fireplace and a comfy armchair. The fireplace usually comes with the house so it’s up to you to find the perfect chair to go with it. Lucky for you, someone thought to design an armchair specifically for that purpose.
This is the Chauffeuse. Its name is actually very inspired and well chosen, given the function it fulfills. The Chauffeuse is a fireside chair. It was designed by Piero Lissoni in 2011 specifically to be used in combination with the fireplace. The design is quite simple and the accent in this case falls on the concept of comfort. The Chauffeuse features a frame made of poplar and pine plywood. It has a support system in cross-woven, coated rubber elastic straps.
The chair also features frame padding in differentiated density polyurethane foam. It has polyamide velveteen backing covered with needle punched, resonated, non-woven polyester fiber. The seat cushion is filled with prewashed and sterilized goose down. The strong and durable base is the perfect frame for the soft and comfy cushions.
The Chaffeuse is indeed a very comfortable piece of furniture, the perfect one to sit on while admiring the fire and getting lost in your thoughts. The overall dimensions of the chair are 80x87x94cm. It comes in several different colors and the upholstery is either fabric of different types and textures or leather.
