The chic and inviting Malmaison hotel in Belfast

This is the Malmaison hotel from Belfast. It sits in the most modern quarter of Belfast and it’s as surprising as the other Malmaison hotel from all over the world. The name was borrowed from the original home of Napoleon and Josephine. It was an impressive house located west of Paris and it was an icon for style, a feature that the hotel is trying to adapt as well.

The luxurious Malmaison hotel is situated on Victoria Street and it has views of the Belfast docks. The hotel was not built from scratch. It was an adaptation of a former seed warehouse. Of course, extensive changes have been made. The original structure dates from the 1870s and it was just too interesting and precious to demolish. Instead, it was made part of the new structure and it’s now another interesting element to look at. The Malmaison hotel is a Grade A list building. It features an impressive stone façade with lots of beautifully carved details.

The interior of the hotel is as impressive as the exterior. It features tall ceilings and oak beams along with cast iron features that create an almost dramatic effect. As expected, it also has heavy arched doors. In fact, these are one of the original elements that have been preserved. The reception area is very inviting. It has wooden desks and cozy armchairs and the atmosphere is very relaxed. The lobby features a large bar and several comfortable sofas. All the rooms and areas have this sense of cozyness and they include antique elements and matching decors.
