The beauty of a contemporary 7th Street Apartment from New York

I’ve always liked two levels apartments, because they are more spacious and you can choose different ways to redecorate it if you’re tired from your old and bleak apartment. For example, in redecorating this 7th Street Apartment, from New York, USA architects and designers from Pulltab Design had as a starting point that the clients request was that their home be selectively renovated and that the new design revolve around not only creative architectural additions, but also the thoughtful selection of free standing furniture and lighting.  To create an optical illusion, they have chosen white walls and ceilings, and shiny floors from stained concrete, which reflect the apartment surface, to make the space look bigger.

The large glass wall which leads us to a balcony is another important element in creating an open space, and the white, silk curtains are perfectly chosen to emphasize the whole living-room. Materials such as stained concrete, American black walnut, bronze and steel were selected along with modern finishes, including true pigment paints and high lacquer surfaces, to fit better into the picture some modern masters with handcrafted detailing from Geoffrey Bawa, Carlo Scarpa and Richard Neutra.

A steel staircase leads us upstairs, where we will be surprised to see a large kitchen with elegant, minimalist furniture, a place designed to cook and also to sit down and eat at an interesting table facing the outside view. The unexpected element from this room is a custom planted garden wall which was installed with the intent of creating a focal point, with a slightly mysterious quality for the living room.

Beneath this garden wall, in the living room, there is a shallow reflecting pool, custom fabricated from folded steel sheets, which functions both as a means to capture water droplets from the vertical garden’s irrigation system, and also for the addition of a calming indoor water garden with colorful goldfish. In addition, there are another interesting decorations which make this amazing apartment look wonderful.
