The art of making the most of a small space

Color is one of the words that define this house in Santa Barbara,California, home of a young couple. There is a mixture of the furnishings from their former apartment with new items, which match the style of this new house. One of the most important aspects is perfectly accomplished and does not need any change:  natural light at day from the glass panes and the skylight and a calming and relaxing light at night.

During a visual tour of the house, some might say that they would change that or that, others would just keep everything as it is, as everything seems to fit  in style, size and location. The general impression is of an original and comfortable place, full of warmth, nice textures and colors, which turn it into a lovely living space.

The young couple seems to adopt the Japanese aesthetic of keeping things simple and of finding beauty in the way things appear in their natural imperfections. The high ceilings and the huge windows facing the yard are perfect, just like the outdoor table, the orange couch. The ethnic textiles and the colorful touches, the art collection reveals the taste of the owners. If it is so nice before being renovated, I wonder how it will look like afterwards. The key element proves to be once again art, as making the most of small spaces is definitely an art!{found on apartmenttherapy}
