The Amelia Teles 315 building In Brazil
This is the Amelia Teles 315 building. It was a project developed by Smart and it’s located in Rua Amélia Teles 315, Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil. Its construction was completed in 2010. this project was designed with a clear goal in mind: that of creating a dialogue between private and urban experiences. The architects wanted to create a building that would be simple, solid and with a timeless design. They came up with a design that includes simple and pure lines, without any striking features.
Even though it’s a modern creation, the team used approximately the same conceptual elements as in the late 50s and 60s architecture. However, they gave those elements a contemporary twist. The building includes 8 apartments with sizes varying between 102 and 127 square meters. The building also offers 12 parking spaces and covers a total area of 1190 square meters. The five-storey building is impressive but simple.
Most of the apartments have only 1 bedroom and integrated or semi-integrated living areas. Also, they have large windows that open 2/3 of their length and offer panoramic views of the surrounding area. The apartments have high performance double-glazed OVC windows and acoustic insulation underneath the floors and along the sewer piping system. This is also a low-maintenance building. The exterior walls are covered with glass tiles and the common areas feature only LED lighting fixtures. The building also has a green roof and it’s an area for water storage as well.{found on archdaily and pics by André Cavalheiro}.
