The Aero glass kitchen with island by Mobalco

Designers always experiment and try to come up with new and innovative designs. Sometimes they focus on the form, other time on the functionality but a real success involves both those aspects and more. Mobalco, for example, managed to create a very ambitious project. They wanted to create a kitchen with 100% recyclable components. The result was Cradle to Cradle and it was presented at the Wurocucina Fair in 2012.

The concern for the environment was what stood at the base of this project. Every little detail, every element was crated taking into consideration the environmental impact it had. Another aspect that had to be taken into consideration was the recycling capacity of these elements and the potential of reusing the components. All these things were used to create the new Aero Glass collection. It’s a collection of kitchen furniture that features front doors made of tempered vitrified glass and retractable doors made from certified FSC boards.

All the components from his collection are made from a combination of materials with low environmental impact. These materials include FSC certified boards with less than 0,04 ppm formaldehyde emissions and biodegradable chemical compounds made from plant fibers. The resulting pieces are not only eco-friendly but also very modern and stylish. They come in several different finishes and they are created using a surface treatment made only using mechanical methods and avoiding chemical products.
