A Taste Of Luxury From The Maison & Objet Americas

After seeing the wonderful designs at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) held in New York this year and the May Design Series in London, we also wanted to experience the stylish display of form and color at Maison & Objet Americas. The first edition of this event was held in May 2015 in Miami and it brought a unique display of amazing craftsmanship and exclusive designs where companies like Fendi Casa and Trussardi exhibited their latest creations.

Metal as a material was repeated throughout the collection, becoming the designer’s signature style for the series. The unique balance between tradition and innovation and the modern classicism adopted as a style are also expressed through a chromatic palette that includes neutral tones combined with cerulean and iridescent grays and various pastel shades with dusty effects.

The Artù sofa and the two armchairs sharing the same name stand out with their cylindrical brass bases and the beautiful balance between elegance and comfort possible thanks to distinctive accent elements such as the minimal geometry of the designs, the simple but intriguing armrests and the simple, toned down yet eye-catching colors.

The set of Fleurette coffee tables is an abstract representation of a floral design. The tables feature simple but expressive designs, with irregular lines that define their tops and a combination of brass and wood which adds a touch of dynamism to the entire collection.

The star accessory of the collection was the Chiara lamp. Its linear and simplistic shape captures the elegance specific to all the other pieces in a subtle and expressive way. The fabric lampshade contrasts with the metal base and its cylindrical silhouette is complemented by clean, linear details.

The architect combined quality products, rigorous geometric lines and stylish materials to obtain a series of one-of-a-kind creations which revolve around simplicity.

The company’s preferred material is soft leather which was combined here with cotton, velvet and chenille fabrics. The base structures are built from a selection of wenge dyed oak, eucalyptus, Canaletto walnut with solid oak details and Emperador Dark and Carrara marbles, combined with metal accents with gunmetal finishes and brushed bronze.

The Italy sofa effortlessly combines elegance and discreet luxury in a series of traditional modular versions. Also available with a chaise longue, the sofa has deep seating and a simple, geometric silhouette which suggest a formal look. The brushed bronze or gunmetal-finished base add a bit of contemporary flair. Similar characteristics are also displayed by the Band sofa.
