Surprising house hidden behind a deceptive exterior

Sometimes we feel that we just want to go somewhere and hide from everyone and everything. We usually achieve that by renting a cabin or something in a secluded area. But what if you were able to do that in your own home? It sounds strange but we have the perfect example to demonstrate that. Take a look at this house. It’s hidden behind the neighboring terraces and it’s hard to spot from the street. Moreover, the exterior is quite deceiving.

The house is located in Surry Hills, Sydney and it was designed by Anthony Gill. The exterior is not at all a representation of the interior. As you enter, you’re surprised to see how different everything looks. Of course, the interior is also minimalist but not the same type of minimalism as the exterior design. The house has courtyards at either end and a sliding gate entry. It’s like a personal getaway right there in the city.

It must be very nice to get back home from a busy day at work and to know that you can just let everything behind and hide in your little home. The interior is a combination of polished concrete, wood and glass. The large windows provide natural light while still being away from unwanted looks. I wish I could hide like that in my apartment.
