The Superbude 2 Hotel Revives The City’s Industrial Flair With Its Design
Superbude 2 or Superbude Saint Pauli is a combination between a hotel and a hostel and can be found in Hamburg. It has a distinctive, eclectic design with lots of unique and custom-made features.
The first floor is an area occupied by a large kitchen and can also be used as a meeting space. The volume is also called Kitchen Club and here you can see a series of unique pieces custom-designed for this project.
Pieces such as this wheelbarrow converted into a chair give the hotel a unique appeal. They’re part of a series of industrial elements meant to preserve the charm of the building and of the city.
The hotel offers a total of 88 rooms as well as an apartment and can receive up to 270 guests. The furniture in the rooms is as versatile as it can be. Everything looks unique and has that improvised look. Some of the pieces are made from repurposed items such as the headboard on this bed.
The walls of the rooms are covered with local newspapers just to offers guests an image of the city. This gives the rooms a particularly casual and welcoming look.
All the rooms have en-suite bathrooms with unique features such as the pipe towel racks or the toilet paper support, all custom-designed for the hotel.
The walls that are not wallpaper with newspapers features lyrics from songs of local bands written on them. It’s a great way of showcasing everything the town has to offer.
Pipe furniture plays a very important role in the interior design of all the rooms in the hotel and include pieces such as the clothing racks, the nightstands, the tables, magazine rack and most of the bathroom furniture.
The ingenious design was a project by Dreimeta and occupies a historic building from the beginning of the 20th century. One of the most important aspects of the project was simplicity which was briliantly illustrated in a unique way.
