The chair was developed by Konstantin Grcic together with Plank and BASF. The chair has a stable frame while the seat and backrest are flexible thanks to their net-like structure.

If the Masters chair looks a bit familiar that may be because its design is a hybrid that combines elements and influences from other classical pieces such as the Series 7 by Arne Jacobsen, Charles Eames’ Eiffel Chair or the Tulip Armchair by Eero Saarinen. The resulting hybrid fuses together these unique styles. The Masters chairs are designed by Philippe Starck and Eugeni Quitllet, they can be used both indoors and outdoors and they’re lightweight and stackable.
