Small Holiday Home In Mexico Shares A Genuine Connection With Nature

The Aculco house is a project developed by PPAA Arquitectos Asociados in collaboration with Alfonso de la Concha Rojas for two brothers with a love for the outdoors and climbing in particular. The site was chosen for its marvelous views as well as the proximity to the cliffs and has been cared for and even reforested before this amazing holiday home was built in 2017.

The building is completely disconnected from the city, situated in the middle of nature and built using genuine materials preserved in their natural state, including elements such as solid quarry block walls, mud floors and wood furniture.

The architects were careful to cause minimal impact on the environment while building the house, planning the project so that they can preserve nature and yet have access to services and materials at the same time. The clients also wanted their new holiday home to require minimal maintenance and to be immersed into its surroundings.

The project was a success from every point of view. The overall simplicity of the design and architecture give the house a very genuine and pure vibe. Also, the views are an important part of the design, the house featuring large windows and sliding glass doors which maintain a constant connection between the indoor and the outdoor.
