Small Computer Table Ideas That You Can Either Buy Or Craft Yourself

At the workplace a large desk is most often a must and can really increase productivity whereas a small desk can be more practical at home. Of course, there are always exceptions. For those of you who are convinced that a small computer table is the right choice, we have a few design options that we’d like to review in the following paragraphs. Each is different from the others and special in its own way but they all share in common the reduced dimensions.

Perfect for small spaces, this computer desk from Amazon comes with a very cool feature: a built-in cable organization tray attached to the underside of the table. The tray includes zip ties and is super easy and convenient to use plus it keeps all the cables organized and out of sigh which is always great, whether you’re at home or at the office.

If you have a laptop or a Mac you don’t really need a special desk but what if you have a more complex computer setup with accessories and things like a printer and speakers? Fitting everything on a tiny desk is not easy but is totally possible, as proven by the Yaheetech computer desk. It has a metal frame, a top made of thick MDF, a separate extension for the monitor, a printer shelf and a keyboard tray and casters.

Not everyone has a printer so a lot of small computer desks have simplified designs, like the one featured on Wayfair. This one is pretty simple and sleek and that allows it to adapt to a variety of different decors and settings. It has a top with a tempered glass surface and a keyboard tray. The Walker Edison Furniture Company also produced an interesting computer desk that’s small and at the same time practical. Their desk has a sturdy frame made of steel and a top made of polished and beveled tempered safety glass, the same as the sliding keyboard tray. The desk is only 31” wide and 20” deep which makes it suitable for small rooms.

A small desk can definitely be useful if you’re trying to save space but finding the right space to put it in is very important too. This desk from Amazon offers answers to both concerns. This is a small and stylish corner desk packed with storage shelves and a drawer. Isn’t it adorable? We love its design and the fact that it fits perfectly in a corner. Pair it with a colored chair for contrast.

A freestanding workstation which you can move around as pleased can be super practical too, especially if you don’t have a designated space for a desk in your home or even at the office if you’re constantly teaming up with other people. The Aigoo mobile computer desk could be just what you need. It has a strong metal frame, a top shelf for a printer, office supplies or decorations, a desktop for a laptop and a sliding keyboard tray which can also be used as an extra storage shelf.

How about a small standing desk? It could be an excellent idea if you’re not using your computer that much anyway. Also, you could save space by placing it in the corner and storing things on shelves under it. What we’re describing now is actually the Monarch Juvenile computer desk. It has a simple and modern design and it includes four open shelves and a work surface at the top, big enough for a computer or a laptop.

Simple and elegant, this Tribesigns desk features a sturdy and durable metal frame and a top made of thick laminate MDF. A nice detail is the fact that the legs have adjustable pads which let you set up a level work surface even on an uneven floor. Also, the top is pretty spacious. However, there’s no storage space built into the desk so you’ll have to keep everything you need right in front of you.

If space really is a concern, then perhaps stacking everything in a very compact desk is the best solution. Some desks like the Furinno offer this possibility. This desk is made of engineered particleboard from recycled materials and durable plastic tubes. It has a pull-out keyboard tray, a bottom shelf for the CPU and possibly other things too and a small top for a laptop or a small monitor. The total dimensions are 23.6”(W) x 29.6”(H) x 15.6”(D).

A wall-mounted desk can help you save even more space but, of course, you’d have to find a permanent place for it on one of the walls. There are plenty of advantages to consider, especially with a design like that of the Prepac desk featured here. You can install the desk at any height you want, there’s plenty of storage available on the shelves and the design is very chic and stylish.

Sometimes a custom design solution is needed when other options fail to deliver the desired results. In this particular case, a DIY desk was the answer. Check out how neat and simple this live-edge shelf desk is….it looks great in combination with the wall-mounted monitors and the hidden cable management system. Another really cool DIY desk idea comes from funkyjunkinteriors. You may not notice this as first but this desk is made out of a crate. A few reclaimed wood boards were also used plus a bulletin board and a few other fittings. /If you like the design and you want to build something similar, make sure you find a crate with a lid.

In case you’re wondering what happens if you need two desks instead of one, you can find the answer to that question on instructables. These twin desks are super small and compact and they mirror each other perfectly, thanks to the geometric design. This can be a practical option for kids and a great way to save some space in a small room.

Building a small desk is not difficult, especially if you’re using repurposed or reclaimed materials such as pallets. A few easy modifications are enough to turn a wooden pallet into a perfect worktop for a modest but pretty cool-looking desk. It’s attached to the wall using screws as well as four U hooks and some rope. Isn’t this an interesting design idea?
