Four-Storey Family Home Maximizes A Small Plot In Singapore
Previously this piece of land situated in a small residential area from Singapore used to be occupied by a semi-detached house. In its place ONG&ONG Pte Ltd built a standalone house designed to serve as a multi-generational family home. The project required the maximization of the plot’s boundaries and a design which takes advantage of the location and immediate surroundings in the most functional way possible. The team designed a four-story house with a perforated facade that lets in lots of natural light as well as views of the garden and street area.
The group floor has a glass front door and mirrored glass windows towards the front and retractable full-height windows towards the rear of the house. All these features combined ensure a smooth and seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor areas. At the rear, the pool runs parallel to the house and on the other side of it there’s a small garden area. Greenery plays an important role throughout the house, inside and out. There are green spaces on each floor and this gives the interior design a fresh and harmonious vibe in combination with materials such as concrete, teak wood and black steel.
