When your home is starting to get too predictable and boring, when everyone around you makes changes except for you, it usually means you need to do a makeover, not to keep up with everyone else but for practical reasons. It’s what the owner of this apartment did. This is a flat located in Singapore. It belongs to a successful woman who basically lived there since childhood.

She enjoys living there where she has many friends and is surrounded by her family. However, in order to maintain something the way you want it, you also need to be flexible and to sometimes make changes. The flat measures 550 square feet and it’s located in the center of the town. The owner recently decided to share her home with her mother and since the apartment was already old and a little outdated, she also decided to give it a makeover.

The renovation was a project by KNQ Associates. The main request from the client was to create a functional design, something similar to a “semi-bachelorette pad”. She wanted the apartment to be cozy and stylish, a very pleasant place to go home to. In order to make those wishes come true, the designer opted for custom-made furniture.

The apartment features a tall storage unit that also conceals the cables, a mirrored wall in the living room that creates the impression of a larger space and also redirects lights as well as a combination of aqua blue and yellow for a fresh atmosphere. Also, in order to take full advantage of the apartment, the utility room has been transformed into an office that can also serve as a recreational area or a guest room.
