The apartment was renovated in 2015 and the style chosen is contemporary with subtle industrial influences. Elements like the exposed steel roof structure and the stainless steel fixtures are suggestive details for this style.

In order to avoid creating a cold and uninviting ambiance, the team that worked on this project decided to use a combination of materials and color that would allow them to establish a smooth balance. So they used warm wood in combination with steel and a color palette that blends the timeless black and white combo with the natural wood shades.

The kitchen is L-shaped and doesn’t include an island. The dining table, however, can double as a work surface when needed. A hidden door in here offers access to a pantry.

The kitchen cabinetry hides the stereo system and the computer, allowing the living room to stay clean and airy. The way all these electronic components were integrated into the custom furniture is quite clever but not unexpected from a contemporary home. The counter positioned under the window can double as a bar and can be accessed from the adjacent balcony. Another interesting feature in the kitchen is the colorful mosaic wall behind the range hood. It’s an eye-catching feature for the entire zone.
