Simple and modern Albini desk

This surprisingly modern piece of furniture was originally designed in 1958.it’s surprisingly modern and simple for something that was designed so long ago. The desk is basically composed of a square steel tube and a glass top. It was designed by Franco Albini who also gave the name of the desk.

The Albini desk is manufactured in Italy by Knoll. The desk features a minimalist design. It’s a floating pedestal desk that combines several materials. It’s made of glass, chrome-plated steel and painted wood. These materials are combined in such a harmonious way that the transition is extremely smooth and almost unnoticeable. It’s a very clear and balanced design. It’s also a minimalist piece of furniture. It’s both elegant and modern, with no useless details or decorations.

The Albini desk, as well as most of Franco’s designs, combines the new and intriguing forms of modernism with a more traditional artisanship. The result is a unique design and a very beautiful piece of furniture. The Albini desk is great for work spaces, for offices or for studies and other spaces in general. The storage unit seems to be floating into thin air. It includes functional drawers and it’s made of either ebonized oak or white lacquer.
