Meticulously Renovated Apartment Takes Advantage Of Color And Chic Accent Features

Once a family home, this apartment from São Paulo, Brazil was just converted into a beautiful single-person space. At the same time, the place was renovated. Architect Flavio Castro was in charge of the transformation.

The apartment has an open floor plan and the kitchen, the dining room and the living space form one large area. Each section is beautifully customized and, although there are no physical barriers between the functions, each has its own personality.

The living area is a casual space with a simple and comfy sectional decorated with two types of accent cushions and two other types of seats, including a simple black bench and two yellow armchairs which brighten up the room.

As you can see, all the functions and the different spaces seamlessly combine. That cube- shaped wooden structure with open shelves on two sides allows a smooth transition.

There are lots of eye-catching accent details throughout the apartment. The group of four pendant lights hanging above the dining table expertly combine eye-catching shapes and contrasting colors in a design created by Tom Dixon and inspired by Indian water vessels.

Here you can actually see how big this space really is. Also, notice how beautiful the color palette is. The gray and the blue form an excellent combination while the yellow complements them in a wonderful way.

The TV room is tucked away in a corner behind this compact shelf unit. It’s a space which feels private and intimate yet which is cleverly integrated into the open floor plan and lets the user see the entire apartment from here.

The demolition of walls allowed all these spaces to become one and the way they flaw into one another is just marvelous. We love how each individual area also has its own character but remains part of the big picture and contributes to a cohesive and well-balanced décor.

Renovation also combined old and new elements. Some finishes and features were intentionally allowed to stand out. The meticulous attention to detail allowed the architect to transform this space into a whole new kind of apartment.

The kitchen is the most colorful space, featuring a beautiful array of shades of the same color. The décor is very compact. A big wall unit hides all the storage spaces and the built-in wine rack saves space and looks chic at the same time.
