Renovated 1800s farmhouse in Austin

This beautiful and imposing house was originally built in the 1800s. It’s hard to believe that it has such a long history, especially when the interior seems so modern and up to date. That’s because the residence, which was originally an old farmhouse, was renovated by Jeanette Van Wicklen of JVW Home. The interior designer from Austin, Texas immediately saw the potential that this house had. She decided to start renovating it with her husband and after a lot of work they managed to completely transform the old farmhouse. They turned it into the beautiful and chic home that it is now.

The house has a lot of interesting elements that catch the eye of a guest. Each room is unique and different and yet they all share the same theme. Moreover, the colors used for the interior design are very beautiful. Subtle hints of turquoise and blue are basically everywhere, usually where you don’t expect them to be.

The house still has some of its original charm. Several original elements have been preserved. Yet the overall image is more modern and elegant than ever. The living room has a rock fireplace and a lovely brown sectional. It’s very warm and inviting. There’s also a separate family room, this time with a white sectional and a bright interior. The whole house is warm and inviting. It has just the right amount of color in all the right places.{pics by Piston Design and Katie Clementson}.
