Remodeled 12th century oil mill by Ricardo Elizondo

Believe it or not, what you see here is a 12th century oil mill that has been rehabilitated. It was originally designed by architect Ricardo Elizondo and it had an austere interior design. The mill had stone and brick walls and beautiful arches that have been preserved. There’s a central courtyard with iron carpentry that provides natural light for the whole structure.

There’s an iron spiral staircase that leads to the attic library. As for the furniture, the sofas and the coffee table from the living room are in perfect tone with the whole house. The rug is also a very wise addition. It was purchased at Ikea Kattrup. In the same room, there’s also a work area with iron table and chairs that have been bought in Belgium. It’s the same for the wool carpet.

The entire place is decorated with elegant details and antique elements, like that beautiful ceramic vase that is a symbol of the local architecture and craftsmanship. Another very beautiful element is the fireplace, that has been preserved. It had been restored, but some of the original elements are still visible.

The dining room has beautiful ceilings painted in the same color as the beams. The blue velvet chairs create a very beautiful contrast. From the bedroom there’s a very beautiful view over the central courtyard. There’s also an area designed for relaxation. It’s connected to the master bedroom and it features a beautiful oil painting by Joan March Zuriguel.{found on nuevo-estilo}
