Rustic Ranch Home With A Modern-Industrial Interior Design
This magnificent summer retreat is built into a steep hillside on a ranch site in Granby, Colorado and fits beautifully into the local vernacular. It was designed and built here by studios Axial Art Architecture in collaboration with rebaL Design and takes full advantage of its orientation and location. The stone foundation grounds the structure while the reclaimed wood siding suggests a rustic style and gives it a timeless and very charming look.
Large wooden decks, patios and balconies extend the indoor spaces outdoors and add depth and detail to the overall design of the building. All of these details help the house blend in and allow it to better take advantage of the panoramic views over the nearby Willow Creel Reservoir and the mountains in the distance.
The interior is partially dominated by a rustic living room area which has this large stone fireplace as well as lots of other cool details. A large antler chandelier is hanging above the lounge area taking advantage of the double-height space and next to this little section is the open kitchen which has industrial light fixtures and a bar. Another interesting space is the guest bedroom which has six built-in bunk beds. The rustic bathroom is beautifully designed as well and has its own antler chandelier hanging above the tub, with a colorful stone wall as a backdrop.
