Phrena Pendant Light by Karl Zahn for Artecnica

Karl Zahn is a very original designer that wanted to create something special, a lighting device that is “green”. He says that he understands this eco movement by using recyclable materials that will allow people after some time to use and re-use the products he creates. Not only he does not use plastic or some other bad materials for the environment, but he makes an unusual yet daring combination between a lighting device and white tyvek, which is a material pretty similar to paper, but only in look. Tyvek is a brand of  high-density polyethylene fibers, a synthetic material and the name is a registered trademark of DuPont.

Any way, this pendant light looks like a flower in bloom, hanging from the ceiling, though there is also a model for the table.  It is so ingeniously design that you can choose the way it casts the light – either upwards or downwards, depending on your preferences. It is delicate and sweet coloured, but really useful both as a lighting device and decoration. You can now purchase this item for $86 here.
