The project is an homage to the Case Study Houses of mid-twentieth-century California and it’s also helping reinvest in a part of the city not that developed. The site got available after the city demolition of rundown housing paved the way for new development in the area. The elevated neighborhood where this lot is located is the perfect place for this type of building. The architects working at the project decided to take advantage of the location and to capture as much of the unobstructed view to the downtown skyline as possible.

The Oklahoma Case Study House is a combination of dense structure adapted to the climate and the client’s appreciation for the architecture of California Case Study Houses. The result was a modern creation with a simple structure and design and made from a combination of glass and steel.

It’s a relatively small house but the open floor plan tends to compensate for that. The property also includes terraces and elevated patios that extend the open floor plan even further and eliminate the distinctions between interior and exterior.{found on archdaily and pics by Joseph Mills Photography}
