Multilevel house in Los Angeles by Ray Kappe

Found on Dwell this is the family home of Californian architect Ray Kappe. The house has actually been built in 1967 and it’s in remarkable good condition even after all these years. Even more impressive is the fact that the house still looks modern even though it was designed so long ago. The home is a multi-level house with a very beautiful design.The design of the house is beautifully balanced. There are some open and free flowing spaces as well as several private areas for when the inhabitants need some intimacy or simply want to go inside to read a book for example.

The interior of the residence is as remarkable as the exterior. It has an enclosed stairway coming up into the vast open space of the main volume. The house has a very interesting design throughout. The attention to details is remarkable.Another very interesting fact about this house is that it’s so in tune with the surroundings. It blends perfectly into the surrounding landscape and it even lets some of the outdoor elements get inside.

The house is very bright and filled with natural light.The atmosphere is very inviting and warm. This is indeed a timeless home. It’s very beautiful and it looks rejuvenated even after all these years. It’s probably because it has been designed perfectly from the beginning. It’s also because the owners took great care of it. They constantly improve it while still preserving the original design.
