Mountain private residence with a Jaguar bookshelf
The Dutch Mountain project involves the creation of a modern private residence. The house sits on a 709 square meter area and it was designed by Denieuwegeneratie architecten. The project started in May 2008 and the construction was completed in November 2011. It was a complex and long process but the clients can finally enjoy the perfect home they always wanted.
The Amsterdam-based Denieuwegeneratie design office was founded in 2008 by Sanne Oomen, Oscar Vos & Thomas Dieben. They decided to focus on sustainable design and on the flexibility and modularity of the design. The Dutch Mountain project is unique and very interesting. The private residence beautiful integrated into the eco system. One half of the house is visible while the other one is hidden. This further deepens the mystery and intrigues the eye. The fact that part of the house is embedded in the hill also has advantages such as thermal insulation and camouflage.
The entrance is literary through the mountain. This is probably where the inspiration for the name came from. The house features a large terrace. The residence has a sustainable design. The frame is built from lark wood from the immediate surroundings. The interior and exterior delimitation is blurry and smooth. There’s continuity in the design and the transition is subtle and seamless. The interior is functionally structured.
The flexible design allows the rooms and partitions to be added or removed. The whole house is filled with natural light coming from the large windows and the glass façade. This also provides panoramic views of the surrounding woods.{found on yatzer and pics by Jaap Vliegenthart | John Lewis Marshall}.
