Lonely Mountain Cabin Blends Into The Beautiful Meadow That Surrounds It
On a quint little site bordered by a beautiful meadow somewhere in Beskydy in the Czech Republic a lovely A-frame cabin was built and it looks stunningly charming. This was a project developed by studio Pavel Micek Architects and completed in 2019. The cabin serves as a weekend and holiday retreat and takes full advantage of its location and the views.
There are no close neighboring building anywhere in the vicinity which actually works out great. The landscape surrounding this beautiful cabin remains undisturbed and the architects made sure to preserve everything as best as possible.
The site is sloped and that makes it look as if the house is partially swallowed by the ground. At the top the site is bordered by the road and a grand meadow unfolds on the opposite side, down the slope. The materials from which the house is built were chosen for their ability to gradually blend into the landscape with time. The lower half of the building is clad in concrete which with time will turn grey and will become covered in moss. The top section is built out of larch wood which gains a silver-gray patina as it ages. Inside, all the spaces are really warm and inviting, with simple decors that put the emphasis on the views and the natural beauty that surrounds this whole place.
