Molteni&C and Dada Steals The Show at IMM Cologne 2018

IMM Cologne 2018 just gave the start for this year’s interior design events. The tradeshow started on the 15th of January and leaves us two more days to enjoy the newest trends and creations in the interior design world. Last year at IMM 2017 we saw some really amazing ideas so, naturally, we’re very excited so show you this year’s highlights along with some impressions. We were quite impressed by the Molteni&C and Dada stand which measured over 700 square meters across. There’s still time to see everything in person so we’ll only give you a teaser.

Molteni&C and Dada stole the show this year with a wonderful collection of furniture and accessories for living, dining and sleeping areas. We got to see some of their iconic furniture pieces in the context of stylish layouts which emphasized their most beautiful features. The timeless elegance of pieces like the D.151.4 and D.156.3 armchairs originally designed by Gio Ponti was captured in new editions of these beautiful classics.

In 2017 Molteni&C reissued a series of items designed by Gio Ponti, the renowned architect and designer who became a promoter of industrial design in the 20th century. The collection included classic armchairs, a set of small tables, bookshelves, storage units and accessories. Some of them were featured this year in the inspiring configurations and decors you can see in these images.

IMM Cologne 2018 also put the spotlight on some new contemporary designs created by internationally-renowned names such as Vincent Van Duysen, Patricia Urquiola, Tobia Scarpa, Dante Bonuccelli and Ron Gilad. They played with minimalist forms, soft color tones and carefully-selected materials to create sensory experiences and decors that simply make sense no matter how you look at them.

The materials, finishes and colors showcased at the event include glass, oxidized wood and raw metal which are simple, natural and sophisticated and which look exquisite in combination with warm greys, sand hues and bright green accents. Check out the stunning living room designs proposed here and all the cool furniture pieces included in their layouts. The Filigree coffee table by Rodolfo Dordoni, for example, has new pewter finishes created especially for the IMM Cologne event. Some inspiring kitchen decor ideas also made their way here. Black kitchen cabinets never looked more sophisticated.

The sleeping areas proposed here showcase new versions of the Glass Master wardrobe and Master Dressing walk-in closet designed by Vincent Van Duysen. The selected bedroom colors are based on the same nuances featured in the living and dining areas. The soothing neutrals are occasionally complemented by bright accents, ensuring harmonious combinations that would look exquisite in any master bedroom.
