Modern Residence In La Gorce by Touzet Studio

This beautiful property is located in La Gorce Island, Miami Beach, Florida, USA. It’s a 17,871 square meter property that was completed in October 2008. It was a project by Carlos Prio-Touzet and Jacqueline Gonzalez from Touzet Studio. Surprisingly, the client didn’t want an original new home. He requested the plan organization should follow the basic layout of the 1926 Carl Fisher Estate, a property he had once owned. He must have really liked that house.

The architects followed the client’s instructions. They divided the residence into three distinct volumes. It now contains a main house with the primary public and private areas, a guest pavilion and a service structure with the servant quarters, the garage, a secure storage, mechanical rooms and a power plant. The main volume includes the master bedroom suite and the family room. There’s also a breakfast area that extends beyond the main volume in order to capture the beautiful views.

The master bedroom suite is also hidden in a glass and stucco structure overlooking a private beach and the pool. The family room is overlooking the garden and the breakfast area sits in a glass box in order to take advantage of the views. Overall, the residence is very beautiful, even though a replica of another property. Some designs are just too good not to be copied.{found on archdaily and pics by Mark Surloff}.
