Modern House In Israel Serves As A Personal Museum
Every home is unique and designed to suit its owner’s style and some end up being more customized than others. Take this residence from Ra’anana in Israel for example. It’s as much a house as it is a museum. It was designed by studio Anderman Architects in 2017 for a client with a huge art collection.
The architects faced a big challenge as they had both to create a functional and practical layout and to find the best way to display the artwork throughout the spaces. The focus is constantly shifting between the architecture of the house and the art displayed inside, with a nice balance being maintained.
Although the planning and execution of the project were slow, it was all worth it. Achieving the perfect balance between architecture and interior decor wasn’t easy but the designers had the perfect solution. They chose to use a series of rough and bare materials throughout the house in order to allow the focus to remain on the owner’s beautiful art collection but also so that they could highlight certain design elements. Concrete, steel and rusty tin give the house lots of character. Everywhere you look there’s something quirky to see, always on a simple and neutral backdrop.
