Ibiza is one of the most beautiful locations for a holiday home. The gorgeous views alone are enough to make this a dream location. The residences here are inspiring in the most beautiful ways. Can Bikini, for example, is a private residence that impresses with its simple but sophisticated flair.
The house was built in 2015 by TG Studio, an architecture and design practice based in London. Its talented international team has great experience in a lot of different types of projects, including private residences, bars and hotels, in creating remodels, interior designs and decors.
This is a residence which is visually defined into two separate volumes. The main volume is white and has a minimalist, Mediterranean design while the second one is smaller and covered in stone. The two volumes are interconnected in a seamless and natural way, the stone fence line and plant beds playing an important role in this sense.
There’s a very beautiful connection between these two volumes and the surrounding landscape. On one hand, they make the house stand out without looking out of place while, on the other hand, they allow it to blend in thanks to the selection of materials and earthy colors.
The entrance is simple, featuring a geometric arch-like cover offering a sheltered shell. The massive entrance door sets a welcoming tone right from the start. But before we go in let’s have a look at all the exterior spaces this residence offers.
A large swimming pool with soft angled edges represents the main feature for the outdoor spaces. Around it there’s a lounge area resembling a small peninsula. One one side of this area there’s a covered outdoor living space including a seating area and a bar.
On the other side there’s another lovely relaxation area with an umbrella and a turquoise sofa. You can see that the designers offered great important to all the small details, trying to make every one of these spaces are inviting and comfortable as possible by giving them an indoor-like feel.
In addition to the pool and its adjacent features the residence also has a separate al fresco dining area. It’s a sheltered space defined by a large table and a set of simple chairs, surrounded by beautiful vegetation which offers it privacy.
On another side of the house there’s also a small lounge area. It’s a private seating area formed of a coffee table with a sculptural base and a glass top as well as a pair of comfortable armchairs.
Then there’s also the terrace where you can find a comfy sofa/ daybed, a coffee table and an umbrella meant to offer protection from the afternoon sun. Each of these outdoor spaces have a lot of character and their own distinct charm.
As far as the interior design goes, you can easily notice the cohesion with the exterior. A spacious living room is decorated using neutral colors. It includes modular seating, a modern fireplace and also a cozy dome-like nook. A simple desk is placed against a side wall, forming an elegant work space.
The windows are not huge as one might expect for a house with such beautiful views. They’re small and narrow but, despite that, the interior is very bright and airy. The designers paid special attention to the lighting in this case.
There are no huge and opulent chandeliers or pendant lamps. Instead the living area features a series of floor and table lamps which illuminate the space in a subtle but effective way while, at the same time, creating a very warm and pleasant ambiance throughout. The same design strategy was also used for the rest of the interior spaces.
