The Oh!dessa Apartment was designed by 2Bgroup who turned it into the perfect setting for having parties and entertaining guests. Featuring a modern aesthetic, the apartment combines the owner’s desire to entertain with an overall comfortable design perfect for day to day life.
What’a really interesting and also unusual about the apartment is the fact that there are very few walls and the space relies on columns and dividers to compartmentalize the areas. The lounge area and the master bedroom are only separated by a partial divider that also serves as a TV mount.
You can see the bookcase wall on one side and the cluster of pendant lamps above but the bed remains hidden.
What you don’t see from that angle is that the bookshelves are framing the two windows. By using this strategy, the designers managed to keep the rest of the bedroom walls free of furniture, thus creating an open look.
The cords were used to create geometric wall art. Instead of hiding them, the designers chose to display them and create a symmetrical décor.
The subtle lighting, the carpet and this large wooden frame soften the décor in the bedroom, making it more welcoming and comfortable.
Want to know what that wooden frame represents? It contains the walk-in closet. It’s a very spacious closet, with wall-mounted cabinetry and an island at the center and if yo pass through it you’ll reach the bathroom. A rather unusual layout but definitely interesting.
Let’s go back to the living area for a moment and look to the right. Here you’ll find the kitchen and dining space, sitting on a slightly raised platform. A single columns serves as a visual barrier between the functions.
The rugged concrete mixed with wood give the dining space a casual and modern feel and the oversized pendant light completes the image. The dining table is perfect for hosting dinner parties but small enough not to feel overwhelming the rest of the time.
The open shelves and wall-mounted cabinetry make the minimalism of the décor stand out, especially from this part of the apartment.
The kitchen island serves as a delimitator but, at the same time, allows the spaces to seamlessly communicate. The difference in floor level also serves as a separator. By raising the kitchen and dining areas, the living space feels cozy there at the center.
The entryway is defined by an exposed brick wall. A series of diverse artwork is clustered on this wall, offering visual interesting to the space.
Tucked in the corner and combining exposed brick and wood, the reading corner feels really cozy and comfortable. The ladder shelves make the nook feel even more casual and the hanging cord lighting is just what this space needed.
A spacious bathroom with glass doors was designed to look glamorous and somewhat commercial. It has a special vibe that for a second makes you feel like you’re out in a pub or cocktail lounge which is exactly the look the owner was trying to create.
Stylish accent lighting and strategically placed accessories soften the mood.
A transparent glass tub emphasizes the openness of this space and of the apartment in general. Everything was carefully planned and the result is an eclectic design, with industrial and modern influences.
Even the washbasins stand out and the whitewashed brick wall behind is the perfect background.
