Micro Office Room Set Up In The Corner Of A Larger Workspace
What you’re about to see in the images that follow is a micro office designed by LUO studio for a company in Beijing, China. The project was completed in 2018 and represents a very interesting spatial experiment. The clients expressed their desire to establish a new department and wanted to set up a separate office space for this inside the existing workspace.
Because they weren’t sure this change would last very long, they wanted the new work area to be highly flexible and modular and to potentially be used for a variety of different purposes based on demand.
The micro office was established in one of the corners of the existing workspace. It has a metal frame, a wooden interior and a glass exterior. The pieces were prefabricated which means they were easy to install but also that the structure can be easily disassembled if needed. Inside, the 9.6 square meter room is a neatly packed collection of multifunctional modules such as desks which disappear into the floor and can be raised individually. They double as benches and they make interactivity easy and fun. The space above is made up of storage cabinets with built-in lighting.
