Marble real cream combined with bamboo wood house by A-cero
The Memory house is a contemporary residence located in Madrid Spain. It was a project developed by architecture studio A-cero led by Joaquin Torres & Rafael Llamazares. It’s a single-family residence with an imposing structure and stylish, contemporary architecture. The house sits on a rectangular plot measuring 2,800 square meters populated by plenty of pine and oak trees.
Most of the trees have been preserved and integrated into the outdoor design. The site had a low slope that was kept as such and that dictated part of the design. The residence was built using stone white marble real cream and bamboo wood and this combination resulted in a beautiful balance of textures, colors and structure.
The back of the house features a series of large windows and glass walls that open up these rooms towards the exterior and that also let in natural light. The interior becomes bright and airy. The floors are covered in cream polished marble in the living room and oak in the bedrooms.
The materials were carefully chosen for each area of the house. It’s why softer and warmer materials and textures were used in the private areas such as the bedrooms and colder and more sober materials for the social spaces. The interior design is simple, modern and elegant. The color palette includes a mix of white, brown and grey shades. The first floor of the house contains three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The ground level features the living area, the kitchen, the storage area and the master bedroom and dressing room. There’s also a basement level that includes the garage and the service area.
