The Magnificent St Regis Maldives Resort Celebrates Nature’s Beauty
Luxury private island resorts like the St. Regis Maldives Vommuli are always extraordinary but for different reasons. In the case of this amazing project done by WOW Architects | Warner Wong Design that reason is the strong relationship between contemporary architecture and nature. The resort was built to celebrate nature’s beauty and this story is depicted onto a beautiful mural on one of the walls of the sunset bar. This wonderful and harmonious synthesis between contemporary design and island life is the foundation upon which everything was built.
The resort is a collection of 77 villas, each with their pool private pool, surrounded by clear blue water, a lush rainforest and white sandy beaches. The villas are of several types and they’re divided into zones, each suitable for different activities. The overwater villas have parts that extend out into the water, featuring a design reminiscent of manta rays while the beach villas are modern versions of local fishing huts. The interiors are infused with patterns and textures found on the island as well as with accent details such as coral chandeliers, headboards decorated with recycled glass beds and soft fabrics that mirror the ripples of the water.
