Despite being situated in the heart of Madrid, the capital of Spain, this penthouse apartment exudes rustic flavor. The terrace offers views of the rooftops and surroundings buildings which may not be breathtaking but help create a very pleasant mood.
Decorated with potted plants and brightly-colored accents, this space is the most refreshing part of the apartment.
The living area, the kitchen and the home office share the same space. There are no visible barriers in between these areas, except maybe for the wooden columns that remained from what was once a set of doors separating the kitchen from the rest of the floor plan.
A rustic area rug delimitates the workspace. The desk, on the other hand, has a simple and modern design. Each of the chairs that surround it has a different design but they all share traditional features.
The kitchen may seem small because it’s squeezed inside this nook but there’s actually plenty of space here for all the amenities, lots of storage and even a dining area. The open shelves that feature that light turquoise shade brighten up the whole space.
A partial wall hides part of the kitchen. On the other side, a cozy seating, reading nook features a rustic coffee table and comfy lounge chair. The staircase gives it a semi-private appearance.
The two red chairs stand out with their bold color but also with the classy and chic design. They’re a lovely addition to this part of the apartment and they contrast with the rustic elements but, at the same time, keep the décor harmonious.
Go up the stairs to reach the bedroom. The slanted roof and the exposed wooden beams give a very inviting, relaxing and cozy look. The mattress sits directly on the floor so there’s a very casual vibe in here, accentuated by the décor accents such as those framed paintings leaning against the wall.
