This is the courtyard of a winery located in Paso Robles, California and designed by studio BAR Architects. It’s an intimate setting with a casual sitting area formed of a table with benches and a fire pit area. There’s a sleek firewood storage rack next to it and plenty of room for chairs to be spread around the fire pit. The view from out here is really beautiful as well. This is a space for visitors and guests to relax, interact with each other and enjoy this beautiful location.

This is a residence designed by studio Bohlin Cywinski Jackson. It’s located in rural Canada and one of its most charming features is this fire pit area. It’s very simple and modern-looking and the clean and simple lines of the built-in benches and stone floor contrast with the green lawn and the forest which surround this area.

This coastal house from Australia has a large backyard which incorporates a variety of elements. The swimming pool occupies a big section of the space. On one side of it there’s a lounge deck and the other is occupied in part by the fire pit area. The whole space is clean and simple which improves the circulation between all the different sections. All the greenery is pushed to the edges, framing the site. This house was designed by architecture studio Atelier Andy Carson.

Situated on a remote site only accessible by boat or via a path that runs through the forest, this charming vacation home somehow manages to fit snugly among the large rocks and dense vegetation. It looks quite natural in this setting and the main focus for studio Lung Hagem Arkitekter who are responsible for completing this amazing project was to highlight the gorgeous views and to make the most of the unique topography of the land. They were able to set up a tiny backyard nestled between the house and the rocks. Out here there’s a fire pit pushed against one of the stone walls.

One of the beautiful attractions at W Hotels Retreat & Spa located just off the southeast coast of Puerto Rico is this large fire pit out in the open. The guests can gather here at night and enjoy the tropical weather, sitting around the fire and admiring the Caribbean views. The interior design for this resort was created by Patricia Urquiola and of course the outdoor areas share the same style. The concrete surfaces are complemented by various accent colors, pleasant textures and lots of greenery.

Architect Jonathan Segal designed a rather unusual house in San Diego. It’s a simple-looking, box-like structure with corten steel wall sections and multiple outdoor areas, each separated from the others. One resembles a small backyard with a large modern fire pit placed at the far end and a green lawn area separating this space from the house. There are small trees dotted around the fire pit and lots of rooms for comfortable chairs and loungers to be spread in between them. The entire area is framed by tall privacy walls.

Surrounded by the desert, this lovely retreat from Palm Springs, California found a lot of inspiration in all the gorgeous landscape that surrounds it. That applies to everything, not just the house itself. This little fire pit area is a very charming spot. It has a bunch of big rocks and boulders which act as a cool backdrop, with vegetation showing through and at the back. The fire pit itself looks really simple and the whole area looks very casual and stylish.

Because it sits on a sloped site, this house from Scottsdale, Arizona was designed with a series of outdoor areas that gradually go down, creating a terraced structure. The living spaces extend seamlessly outside thanks to the large pivoting glass doors. They extend onto the terrace and sets of stairs and large planters leads down with the slope, ending on a relaxing lounge area with a fire pit at the center. This was all a project completed by Lake|Flato Architects.

This entire outdoor living area designed by landscape architecture studio Alder Group is incredibly charming. The natural and earthy materials and the colors fit in perfectly with all the vegetation and the entire space has a very organic look. A series of stone stairs leads down to a small fire pit area surrounded by a round platform and greenery. There’s also a pergola at the back which can be reached via a different path.

Speaking of organic landscapes, this is also a wonderful example. It’s a lovely area created by studio Grace Design. It uses natural stone, wood, lots of different types of plants and there’s also a water feature and a fire pit area. The fire pit has this beautiful stone seating area around it with armchairs always accessible for extra guests. Although small, this courtyard is very diversified.
