Keeping the Dog of the House Stylish and Organized – 10 Tips
Does your pup rule the house? Are the toys, blankets and bones thrown all over the house? They sure are at my house with my little Aussie pup running amok. The good news is that there are plenty of ways to keep our furry, four-legged friends stylish and organized so they feel secure and we feel tidy.
1. Contain all the dog food and treats.
Have a large container for all the doggy kibble and have some nice size tins for all the yummy treats. I keep the food right outside the kitchen door in the garage and my stylish canister on top of the pantry for an easy grab and an out-of-sight (out-of-nostril) look.
2. Pick out a accent “bed.”
Every indoor dog need’s a bed to hang out and cuddle up to in the living room. Make sure it’s stylish enough to act as a piece of floor decor too.
3. Throw the toys into a great basket.
Your pup will inevitably has lots to toys. Pick out a fun basket to leave by the fireplace that holds each and every one of them when play time is over.
4. Fold all the blankets every weekend.
Once the weekend rolls around get in their crate and clean. Wash and fold their blankets and wipe out the bottom. They’ll feel refreshed and so will you.
5. Keep a cleaning shelf.
It could be in the linen closet, laundry room or bathroom. But keep all your carpet cleaner, doggy shampoo and pet medicines in one safe place.
6.Use hooks for walking.
Whether it’s by the side of the door or even in the garage, use hooks for extra collars, leashes and even the harnesses. Show off your stylish choices and keep them untangled.
7. Package all the chewies.
Make sure you keep all the rawhide bones and chew toys in a safe spot. Rawhide bones carry different germs and bacteria so when there’s no chewing happening, keep them away.
8. Make a rug walkway.
Keep high traffic areas free from grass stains, wet paws and distress with a rug. It could be a small doormat or a runner to keep a stylish look on the walkway to go outside.
9. Cover up the nighttime crate.
Dog crates are never too fashion-forward. But, if you cover them with a great piece of fabric or sheet it’ll look a lot better and even more cozy for your pup.
10. Contain the chaos everyday.
Get in a routine. As part of your morning wake up and round up, sweep the floors to be free of dog hair and leafs that have been dragged in by the paws. Fold blankets, put toys away and sweep up any excess kibble on the floors.
