Jellyfish House: Spectacular Residence With A Rooftop Terrace And Infinity Pool
Designed by Wiel Arets Architects, the Jellyfish House impressed us in terms of architecture and beyond. The setting offers a special charm to this residence; you can find it on the Mediterranean coast of Spain, in Marbella. The three story house is almost entirely built of poured in place white-concrete.
It has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, two paths of circulation, a kitchen, steam room, sauna and last but not least, an elevator whose purpose is to transport food from the kitchen up to the rooftop.
With an unusual shape, due to the way in which this residence is divided, the so called Jellyfish House stands out through the marvelous swimming pool on the top of the roof. It’s not an ordinary pool, this one has something special, any of us would be proud to have something like that in our homes.
First of all, it’s situated on the rooftop, which means that the owners are allowed to swim, and in the same time to take full advantage of the surroundings. The pool is also equipped with an infinity edge. Second of all, it has a glass bottom floor. But wait, that’s not all!
Almost every area of the house has access to the pool. Consider it a huge aquarium. The only difference is that you won’t see any kind of fish, but people swimming and having a good time. Oh, and the glass is 6 cm thick, so it’s safe enough to live between these walls.
Another particular feature that really impressed me is the fact that water combined with the sunlight creates a special effect. Turquoise reflections can be seen all over the house, especially in the terrace area. How relaxing can this be?
