Modern, Rustic and Industrial Meet In A Chic Moscow Studio

There’s no unique way of making a space feel warm and cozy, especially with so many styles and materials to choose from. Each choice you make changes the final look a little bit so you gradually shape the interior design until you’re happy with the result. In the case of this particular apartment, a very simple décor was chosen so the choices were very straight-forward.

One of the first things you notice here is the color palette and the way it matches the materials used throughout. The living room has a very interesting leather sofa featuring a shade of brownish gray and an interesting patina which connects it with the concrete walls and ceiling. Then there are also all the other beautiful elements, such as the vertical book storage and the cord hanging pendant lights.

Notice how smooth the transitions between colors are. The concrete walls, the unfinished natural wood floor and the long curtains all form a harmonious composition even though they have nothing in common. Another interesting thing about the apartment is the flexibility of the layout and design. The white wall actually incorporates sliding doors which open to reveal additional spaces.

The kitchen is part of the open floor plan and is connected to the living room through a bar. It features similar lighting fixtures, also simple and with black cords. The color palette remains the same and there’s no open storage.

There’s a number of accent details which are repeated throughout the apartment. For example, you can see the same type of pendant lights in the bedroom too as well as those curtains. The bed here sits on a platform and is complemented by an exposed brick wall with an interesting patina.

As for the bathroom, this is where the industrial style and the choice of color and materials is best displayed. We love the simplicity of the décor and the way materials, shapes and finishes were combined here.{images by Vytkiv Bogdan}.
