There’s much to admire about houses like the one we’re about to check out right now. Like many others, it’s placed in a breathtaking setting, high up in the mountains and close to a lake on a piece of land filled with the gorgeous natural landscape.
It was up to the teams at Ryan Group Architects and Rockett Design to find a way for the house to blend in with the land and to establish a smooth dialogue with its surroundings. Maximizing the views was a priority. As such, the architects gave the house huge windows that let in light, fresh air and frame the scenery, brining the outdoors in.
The strong connection between the house and the beautiful landscape surrounding it is also emphasized in several other ways, through features like a modern in-ground infinity-edge swimming pool which seamlessly establishes a visual continuity between it and the nearby Tahoe Lake.
There’s a lot more to take in inside the house. The interior was done by studio Meridith Baer Home. The main living room, for instance, has a big soaring ceiling which helps to create a very open, airy and luxurious ambiance. It also has a sliding glass wall that connects it to an outdoor patio.
The main living room which is situated on the ground floor also has an eye-catching stone fireplace and is directly connected to the kitchen and dining area. A live-edge table adds warmth to the otherwise simple decor and ties in nicely with the ceiling and the floor. There’s also a secondary living room which is part of a guest wing situated above a three-car garage. This one is not as impressive in proportions but maintains a luxurious and sophisticated feel nevertheless.
The house has five bedroom suites in total, all enjoying views towards the lake. That includes a bunk room connected to the guest living room. The master suite is separate from the rest of the spaces. It can be accessed via a glass-enclosed bridge and it serves as a private and serene sanctuary with wonderful views.
