A Charming New Hotel At The Foot of Mont Blanc
Nira Montana is a new hotel that was built in La Thuile, a small town in Valle d’Aosta in Italy. It’s the first five star hotel in this area and it benefits from a great location and wonderful views. Here, at the foot of Mont Blanc, the decor is mesmerizing and draws people in from all over the world. The hotel was designed by architect Simone del Portico and it looks really friendly and welcoming.
It’s easy to see that this isn’t your average fancy hotel. It offers high standards but in a very homely manner. Designed to look more like a large cabin than a hotel, the building is meant to be cozy and inviting and in order to offer this type of ambiance the architect chose to use a palette of traditional and rustic materials which are integrated into a modern setting.
Although there’s a lot of wood throughout the hotel, it doesn’t have the main role in the design. It was used here in combination with weathered steel and iron as well as with wood-patterned wallpaper and bright paint colors, the result being a balanced and diverse distribution of the materials and finishes. There’s a strong presence of natural materials throughout but this doesn’t stop the hotel from having a modern feel.
The modernity comes from design details such as an overall light and bright ambiance and a balanced combination of textures and finishes. White accent walls and ceilings are blended with chocolate brown wood and leather accents. The oak floors create cohesiveness throughout and provide a pleasant backdrop for the furnishings and decorations.
The hotel has a spa, an indoor swimming pool, a sauna, steam room, a treatment cabin, massage rooms and various relaxations areas. They are meant to make the guests feel as comfortable as possible and they offer a perfect opportunity to unwind and enjoy a few days of complete relaxation.
The rooms are inviting and elegant, featuring tree-patterned wallpaper, stylish designer furniture and throughout decor accents. They have access to terraces and balconies which are also furnished, providing a great environment from where to admire the views and the surroundings.
